Wells Fargo statement to CSV
Drop the Wells Fargo PDF as you downloaded it. It is converted on your computer, and we check every row against the running balance, compare the totals with the ones Wells Fargo printed and check that the rows carry the opening balance to the closing one. Then download it for your accounting software or a spreadsheet.

Deposit account statements remain online as long as seven years. An account that was not set to online-only delivery when it was opened may have a gap in the statements shown online, and a closed account’s statements remain for about 90 days after closing.
Guest User access, view-only, suits an accountant or bookkeeper: from the Security & Support tab, use the Account Access Manager link, then the Guest Users tab, and choose the accounts they may see, statements included.

What a Wells Fargo statement looks like, and what we do with it
Initiate, Navigate and Advantage Business Package statements open with a Statement period activity summary, then a Transaction history in six columns: Date, Check Number, Description, Deposits/Credits, Withdrawals/Debits and Ending daily balance. Rows are oldest first and dated 5/2, with no leading zero and no year, and the table closes on an Ending balance line and a Totals line under each money column. Analyzed Business Checking is set out another way: an Account summary across one line, then separate Credits and Debits lists in which the amount comes before the Transaction detail, and every total is printed ahead of its own label.
- The Ending daily balance column is filled only on the last transaction of each day, so a day of several mobile deposits and checks prints one balance.
- We check each day’s transactions together against the balance at its end, so a misread amount still shows on the day it happened.
- A Summary of checks written follows the Transaction history, "checks listed are also displayed in the preceding Transaction history".
- We take each check once, from the Transaction history, with its number ahead of the description, and never count the summary again.
- A Combined Statement of Accounts holds a checking and a savings account, listed with the page each starts on, and each with its own Transaction history and Totals.
- We open the savings account apart from the checking, so its rows never land among checking’s. Every check claimed here was made on the checking side, and the savings rows take their year from the statement date at the head of their pages, as checking’s do.
- Analyzed Business Checking prints no running balance. Credits and Debits are separate lists, with a Daily ledger balance summary at the end.
- We take the sign from the list each row is in and read no rows from the daily balances. Our totals are checked against Total credits and Total debits, and the rows have to carry the Beginning balance to the Ending balance.
- Analyzed Business Checking lists Checks paid three to a line, each as Number, Amount and Date, with * marking a gap in the check sequence.
- We read the line block by block, so each check becomes its own row on its own date.
What this page is based on
Nine statements from 2013 to 2026 behind this page: four of Initiate Business Checking, one of Navigate Business Checking, one of Advantage Business Package Checking, two of Analyzed Business Checking and one business checking account whose product name is not on the pages we have, held by clubs, societies and schools. Two of them are Combined Statements of Accounts with a business savings account behind the checking, and one came bound into a board packet behind its minutes and accounting reports. Every row of the seven with a running balance agreed with the Ending daily balance, and all nine matched their printed totals and reached their ending balance. None of them is the month after another of the same account, so joining months has not been tried here.
Optimize Business Checking has no statement among our samples, nor does the personal Everyday Checking. The Signify Business Cash card, like any file exported from Wells Fargo Vantage, the treasury platform, lies outside what this page claims.
Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.
Questions
Our Wells Fargo statement is inside a board packet. Should I cut it out first?
There is no need. In the packet we tried, the statement came after the meeting minutes, a balance sheet and a reconciliation report, each with balances of its own. We read the statement from the first of the pages Wells Fargo numbers as its own, so its opening balance came from the statement, and the month agreed with its Ending daily balance on every row and with both of its Totals.
Analyzed Business Checking has Effective date and Posted date columns. Which one is used?
The Posted date. On both Analyzed statements we tested, Wells Fargo filled only that column, and each row is dated by it. We have not yet seen a row with an Effective date printed beside it, so we cannot say which date such a row would take.
Business Online offers Download Account Activity. Why use the statements?
Because the download stops sooner. Wells Fargo’s help gives 90 days by default and up to 18 months of activity, while a deposit account’s statements stay for seven years. Statements also hold no pending items, and except on Analyzed Business Checking they print the Ending daily balance that the converted rows are checked against.
Privacy, scans and price work the same for every bank, and the home page answers them.
