Terms
Ledgaroo is run by Sebastian Zanotto in Victoria, Australia. Using the site means agreeing to these terms, so they are kept short.
The short version
- Free stays free
- Excel and CSV for a whole statement at a time, with no account and no limit on how many statements.
- Premium renews until you cancel
- Each month or each year. Cancel any time, and the key works to the end of what you paid for.
- 30 days to change your mind
- Any charge is refunded in full if you ask within 30 days of it. No reason needed.
- You check what you import
- The checks catch a wrong amount. They cannot catch everything, and the ledger is yours.
The sections below are the terms. This is only a summary of them.
What Ledgaroo is
A converter that turns a PDF bank or credit card statement into a spreadsheet or a file for accounting software, in your browser.
The free plan writes Excel and CSV for one whole statement at a time, with no account and no limit on how many. Premium adds, at the price on the pricing page:
- Every other format we write, such as Xero CSV, QBO, OFX, QIF and MT940.
- A CSV in a layout of your own.
- Clean payee names, and rules that set the payee and category.
- The working paper.
- Any statement cut to a date range.
- One account's statements joined into one.
- Downloading every open statement at once.
Check what you import
We check every row against the running balance on the statement, and the totals against the ones it prints, and we say when a check fails.
What the checks catch
- A wrong amount, which breaks the running balance or the totals.
- A missing row, which does the same.
- A row dated outside the period the statement covers.
What they cannot
- A description read wrongly, or a date read wrongly within the period, since neither changes a balance.
- Much at all on a statement that prints neither a running balance nor totals, since there is less to check against.
A scanned page is read with OCR, which misreads more often than reading a PDF's text, so check a scan all the more closely. You remain responsible for what goes into your ledger.
Paying for Premium
Premium is sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service. Stripe takes the payment, handles the tax and sends the receipt, and Link's own terms cover the payment. Checkout shows the price in your currency before you pay.
Ledgaroo itself is ours. What it does, and putting it right when it is wrong, are our responsibility, and these terms cover them.
Renewing and cancelling
Premium renews each month or each year, whichever you chose at checkout, at the price you agreed to there, until you cancel. Cancel any time at link.com or from a receipt email. Your key keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds
Write to support@ledgaroo.com within 30 days of any charge and we refund that charge in full. You do not need to give a reason. Unless you tell us otherwise, we also cancel the subscription so it does not renew, and the key stops working.
This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and the consumer law where you live, which these terms do not limit.
Your licence key
The key unlocks Premium in any browser you paste it into. Do not publish it or sell it on. A key that turns up in public may be cancelled.
Your browser checks the key with our server about once a day. If our server cannot be reached, a key that was valid keeps working for up to seven days.
Do not try to disrupt the site or its server, or to get at anyone else's key.
If Ledgaroo changes
We may change what Ledgaroo does, or stop it. If Premium stops before the end of a period you paid for, we refund the part you did not get.
When these terms change, this page shows the new date. If a change affects Premium, we email subscribers before it takes effect.
Liability
Consumer law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing here excludes them. Beyond those, and as far as the law allows, Ledgaroo is provided as it is, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and its courts can hear any dispute. If you are a consumer elsewhere, the protections of the law where you live still apply.
Who you are dealing with
Questions about these terms reach the person who runs Ledgaroo. The privacy page says what is kept about you, and the contact page says what to send when something goes wrong.
