Unity Trust Bank statement to CSV

Drop the Unity Trust Bank PDF as you downloaded it. It is converted on your computer, and we check every row against the running balance. Then download it for your accounting software or a spreadsheet.

Getting the PDF out of Unity Trust Bank

  1. Log on to Online Banking and select the account you want to view.
  2. Open Statements, one of the tabs across the top of the account.
  3. Download the statement as a PDF. CSV and OFX are offered there too.

Up to two years of statements stay in Online Banking, each appearing one working day after its statement date.

A small business or small charity gets a monthly statement whenever money has gone into or out of the account since the last one. Select Go paperless from the Statements menu to stop the paper copies.

Statements can be sent to more than one user, and Unity’s view only access lets other members of your organisation keep up with the account.

What a Unity Trust Bank statement looks like, and what we do with it

Under the heading "Your Current T1 account transactions:" the table runs Date, Type, Details, Payments Out, Payments In and Balance. Dates are written in full, day first with slashes, every figure carries a pound sign, and the earliest row sits at the top, under a dated Balance brought forward line. The statement gives a single Date at the top rather than a period, and prints its statement number and "Page number 1 of 3" at the foot of each page.

Type and Details are separate columns, and each wraps both above and below the line that carries the date and amounts, so a bill payment’s type reads "Faster Payment" over "Debit" while the payee sits beside it after "B/P to:".
We gather the lines around each dated line, Type first, so the row reads "Faster Payment Debit B/P to:" and then the payee.
Both money columns are filled on every row, the unused one with £0.00.
We read £0.00 as no movement that way, so each row keeps one signed amount.
The first row is Balance brought forward, dated, with £0.00 in both money columns.
It gives us the opening balance and is not exported.
The statement prints no closing balance and no totals.
Each row is checked against the balance printed beside it, which is the only check this layout allows.
Some files carry a second document after the statement: "Your pre-notification statement", a letter of the charges to be taken next month, with its own table of Type, Count and Charge.
Without a date on any of its rows, the letter adds nothing to the export. Only the rows under the transactions heading are read, and a fee Unity has actually taken shows there as a dated Fee row.

What this page is based on

Three statements, one each from three parish councils’ Current T1 accounts, from 2023, 2025 and 2026, with five to nine transactions apiece. Every row agreed with the balance printed beside it. Two of the files run to eight pages, with the pre-notification letter and two pages marked BLANK PAGE bound in, and the letter added no rows. No totals or closing figure are printed to check against, and the three accounts differ, so no months have been joined.

Unity’s savings accounts, such as the 95-Day Notice Account and the Instant Access Account, and its Corporate Purchasing Card have not been tried. Neither has a statement for the T2 or T3 tariff, though Unity describes all three tariffs as one Business Current Account priced by turnover.

Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.

Questions

Is there a Unity app I can download statements from?

Not for this account. Unity’s Business Current Account key features say there is no mobile app available on it, so statements come from Online Banking in a browser.

I need a statement older than two years. What can I do?

Online Banking keeps up to two years of statements, so anything older has to come from a PDF you saved at the time or a copy statement, which Unity’s Standard Service Tariff charges for. The three statements we tested were PDFs parish councils had published with their own papers, and a PDF kept that way converts like one downloaded today.

Which file should I take from the Statements tab: the PDF, the CSV or the OFX?

Unity’s online statements page offers all three. If your software takes Unity’s CSV or OFX directly, that is the shorter road. Start from the PDF when you want every row held to the balance Unity printed beside it before you import anything.

How do I know which month a Unity statement covers?

The statement prints a single Date at the top, not a period. The Balance brought forward line carries a date of its own, and every row after it is dated in full, year included, so no period is needed to place them. Read the span from the first and last rows of the table.

Privacy, scans and price work the same for every bank, and the home page answers them.
