Truist statement to CSV
Drop the Truist PDF as you downloaded it. It is converted on your computer, and we compare the totals with the ones Truist printed and check that the rows carry the opening balance to the closing one. Then download it for your accounting software or a spreadsheet.
Getting the PDF out of Truist
- In Truist One View, select Reporting & accounts from the navigation menu.
- On the Account Summary screen, click the Statements tab and choose eStatements from the dropdown.
- Pick the eStatement type you want.
- Click Download in the Actions column beside the statement.
Those steps are for Truist One View, the platform for commercial, corporate and institutional accounts. Truist Online and Mobile Banking for Business, the small business service, lets you view, print and download your current statement and the history it holds, but Truist’s public help gives no menu path for it.
Truist keeps paperless statements for deposit accounts online for up to seven years, and Documents in Truist Online Banking shows how long each account’s statements are kept.
A photocopy of an earlier statement can be asked for on 844-4TRUIST (844-487-8478), at Truist’s standard fee.

What a Truist statement looks like, and what we do with it
Under "Your account statement" and its date, the product name in capitals heads an Account summary, and the transactions follow in up to three sections: Checks, then Other withdrawals, debits and service charges, then Deposits, credits and interest. Each section has its own DATE, DESCRIPTION or CHECK #, and AMOUNT($) headings and ends on a Total line, the sum after an equals sign. No amount carries a sign and no row a balance; rows are dated month and day, 01/13, oldest first, except the checks, which run in number order down three columns.
- Each table’s headings, DATE, DESCRIPTION or CHECK #, and AMOUNT($), are letter-spaced, and on some statements the text inside the PDF breaks them mid-word, as "DESCRIPTIO N" and "AMOUN T($ )".
- We read a heading with its letters closed up, so its columns are found either way.
- Checks are set three to a line, each with its DATE, CHECK # and AMOUNT($), and an asterisk in front of a number marks a skip in the sequence, as the footnote under the list explains.
- We read each check as its own transaction, dated by the day it was paid, with its number, asterisk included, as the description.
- The Account summary runs from "Your previous balance as of" one date through Checks, "Other withdrawals, debits and service charges" and "Deposits, credits and interest" to "Your new balance as of" another, each figure after its sign: a minus for money out, a plus for money in, and an equals sign before the new balance.
- We add the checks and the other withdrawals into one money-out figure, compare our money in and out with the summary, and check the rows carry the previous balance to the new one.
- No statement period is printed, only the statement’s own date, "For" and the last day of the cycle, and the dates beside the previous and new balances, so a January statement’s previous balance is dated in December.
- We give each row its year from those dates, so a January statement’s rows land in January of the new year, not the old one.
- After the transactions, Truist’s disclosures page ends on a How to Reconcile Your Account worksheet, its blank columns headed Date/Check # and Amount like a table of transactions.
- We read nothing from it.
What this page is based on
Six statements, no two from the same account: Business Value 500 Checking from two Chapter 11 debtors, one in 2022 and one in 2023; a Simple Business Checking month from 2025; a Community Checking month that a community group bound into its 2024 treasurer’s report; and Corporate Edge Checking and Analyzed Checking for one month of 2023, both from a single operating report. They held from three rows to over two hundred. Every one agreed with its Account summary on checks, other withdrawals and deposits, and its rows led from the previous balance to the new one. With no two months of one account among them, joining Truist months has not been tried.
Truist Dynamic Business Checking, the personal Truist One Checking and the Truist Business Cash Rewards card are among the statements we have never been given. Our samples don’t show whether they came from Truist One View or from online banking for business, so we can’t say the two print alike.
Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.
Questions
Truist no longer lists Business Value 500 Checking. Does its statement still convert?
Yes. Truist’s price changes list Business Value 500 Checking as grandfathered, so existing accounts still get statements. Two of the six we tested were Business Value 500, a year apart and from different businesses, and both matched their summaries and closing balances.
How far back can I get Truist statements, and what is the 18 months I keep seeing?
They are two different things. Truist’s small business pages offer up to 18 months of account history online, such as images of paid checks. Statements themselves stay online for up to seven years for deposit accounts. For one older than that, the business service agreement says Truist will post a photocopy for a fee.
Can I get CSV straight from Truist instead?
On Truist One View, often yes: its Download widget offers BAI, CSV, tab-delimited, QuickBooks (OFX), MT940/MT942 and CAMT, depending on your company’s billing plan and the permissions your administrator gives you. That is transaction data, not the statement. Convert the statement when you need the month exactly as Truist closed it, checked against its Account summary.
Who in our business can download the Truist statements?
Under Truist’s business service agreement, a Full Access Administrator can see statements and create users, and gives each User the accounts the Business Profile Owner or Administrator chooses. A User cannot add anyone else, so an outside bookkeeper is added by your administrator.
Privacy, scans and price work the same for every bank, and the home page answers them.
