Getting the PDF out of TD Canada Trust
- In TD Business Central, open the Reporting and Statements menu and click Statements.
TD Business Central lists recent statements for up to 60 days, and a custom search reaches older ones. Clients who had Business Deposit Account eStatements on Web Business Banking can find their historical statements there.
Online statements, with cheque images, are archived for seven years from the time you sign up for them, at no charge. On Community Plan and Community Plan Plus a paper month-end statement is free too.
In EasyWeb, statements are under the account’s Statements and Documents, choosing it from a dropdown and filtering by year; up to 7 years are online, and each opens as a PDF to save or print.

What a TD Canada Trust statement looks like, and what we do with it
Every page repeats the account’s header, with Branch No., Account No., the Account Type in capitals and Statement From - To, over a table headed DESCRIPTION, CHEQUE/DEBIT, DEPOSIT/CREDIT, DATE and BALANCE. Every amount is a plain figure in the debit or the credit column, and the month runs from its first day down. Below the table, page one also prints the next statement date, and the month’s average credit and minimum balances, and after the last page of transactions come the cheque images.
- The DATE column sits right of the money, written OCT01 with no space and no year, and a deposit runs into it as one piece of text, the amount then the date.
- We split the figure from the date, and give each row its year from the Statement From - To line, which writes each end as a three-letter month, the day and a two-digit year.
- Each page opens with its own BALANCE FORWARD row, and a balance is printed only on the last transaction of a day.
- We take the opening balance from the first page, export no BALANCE FORWARD row, and check each day’s transactions together against the balance at its end.
- The foot of each page prints Credits and Debits, each with a count and a total for that page only, and the statement prints no totals for the whole period.
- We do not compare against the page totals, so a TD Canada Trust statement is checked by its running balance.
- The last day can carry a MONTHLY PLAN FEE and an ACCT BAL REBATE of the same amount.
- We export both, so the fee and its rebate both reach your ledger and cancel out.
- A "CHQS ENCLOSED" line, with the number of cheques before it, is followed by a page of cheque images, each captioned CHEQUE # and the cheque’s number, with its amount.
- We read each cheque once, from the CHQ# row in the table, and nothing from the images page.
What this page is based on
One Business Chequing Account statement on the Community Plan Plus, a month from 2019, over two pages of transactions and a page of cheque images. Its rows, e-Transfers and cheques among them, reconciled day by day against every balance printed. TD prints no totals for the whole month and the statement gives no closing balance line, so the running balance is the only check it allowed.
TD’s current small-business chequing accounts, the TD Business Digital, Business Basic and Business Unlimited Accounts, have sent us no statements yet. The TD Business Credit Card and anything exported from TD Business Central rather than printed as a statement are untested as well.
Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.
Questions
Why does my TD statement charge a plan fee and then refund it?
Because the balance stayed high enough. TD’s service plan document says the Monthly Plan Fee on Community Plan and Community Plan Plus is rebated when the required Daily Minimum Balance is kept for the entire month. The statement shows that as MONTHLY PLAN FEE and ACCT BAL REBATE on the last day.
Community Plan Plus is no longer sold. Does that matter for my statement?
Yes, if you are still on it. TD lists Community Plan and Community Plan Plus under its discontinued Business Chequing Account service plans, and its fees still apply to existing account holders. Our sample is from 2019, and we have not tested a statement for any of TD’s current accounts.
Do the MONTHLY AVER. CR. BAL. and MONTHLY MIN. BAL. figures become transactions?
No. They sit below the table on the first page, in the same columns as the money but with no date, and say what the balance averaged and how low it fell over the month. Neither is a transaction, so neither becomes a row, and a test drawn after TD’s layout holds that.
Privacy, scans and price work the same for every bank, and the home page answers them.
