NAB statement to CSV

Drop the NAB PDF as you downloaded it. We convert it on your computer, check every row against the running balance, and compare the totals with the ones NAB printed. Then export for Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB and other accounting software, or any spreadsheet.

What a NAB statement looks like, and what we do with it

Dates spell the month, written 7 Oct 2025.
We read the month by name and write the date as 2025-10-07.
Balances carry a Cr or Dr suffix, written 3,522.85 Cr.
The suffix gives the figure its sign.
A transaction runs over two lines: the date, the channel and the reference on the first, then the payee and the amount on the second, joined by a long row of dots.
We join the second line to the first and read the amount from the end of the dots.
The list opens with a Brought forward row, and an interest rate line carries a balance with no amount beside it.
The opening balance comes from the first. We leave the rate line out.
The first page prints Opening balance, Total credits, Total debits and Closing balance.
We compare our totals with the printed ones, so a missed row shows up.

We have tested one real NAB iSaver statement: two pages, 34 transactions, every running balance matched, and the printed total credits and debits matched to the cent.

We have only tested the NAB iSaver savings account statement. Scanned or photographed statements do not work, because there is no text in them to read.

Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.

Questions

Is my statement uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your computer. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. Close the tab and it is gone.

Does it handle NAB credit card statements?

Not yet. We have only tested the NAB iSaver savings account statement, so this page does not claim credit card or business statements.

Does it handle scanned statements?

No. A scan or a photo has no text to read. Download the PDF from online banking instead.

Is it free?

Excel and CSV are free, with no account and no limit. Xero CSV, QBO, OFX, QIF and MT940 come with Premium, and so does downloading all open statements at once. See what Premium costs and includes.
