Getting the PDF out of Huntington

In Huntington Online Banking, statements are under the statements tab, where up to two years of them can be viewed, printed or downloaded.

Huntington keeps statements online for 24 months. For anything older you have to contact Huntington directly.

Business Online, Huntington’s commercial platform, also shows 24 months of Statement History in both its Standard and Comprehensive packages; only Comprehensive adds the long-term seven-year archive.

What a Huntington statement looks like, and what we do with it

The first page sets the period and average balances on the left beside a summary on the right, from Beginning Balance through Credits (+) and Debits (-) to Ending Balance. The transactions follow in four sections, each named on the left with the masked account number on the right: Deposits (+) and Checks (-), set two to a line, and Other Credits (+) and Other Debits (-), one to a line with Date and Amount before the Description. No amount carries a sign of its own, rows are dated month and day, and Balance Activity closes the statement before Huntington’s disclosures and notices.

The period is printed one character at a time, as "0 3 / 0 1 / 2 4 to 0 3 / 3 1 / 2 4", and the rows are dated 03/02 with no year.
We close up the gaps, read the period month first, and give each row its year from it.
Deposits (+) are set two to a line, each half with its own Date, Amount, Serial # and Type, and Checks (-) the same way with Date, Amount and Check #.
We read each half as its own transaction, so one printed line gives two rows, with the sign taken from the heading.
Checks are listed by number rather than by date, and an asterisk straight after a number marks a gap in the sequence: a check before it that was voided, not yet presented or on an earlier statement, as Huntington’s footnote explains.
We date each check by the day it was paid and keep its number, asterisk included, as the description.
A Balance Activity table follows the transactions, with three columns of dates and balances across the page.
We read it as daily balances, so none of its figures becomes a transaction.
The summary prints Credits (+) and Debits (-) with their parts beneath them: Regular Deposits, Electronic Deposits, Regular Checks Paid and Electronic Withdrawals.
We do not yet read a total printed above its own parts, so this statement is checked by the rows carrying the Beginning Balance to the Ending Balance, not by its totals.

What this page is based on

One statement: a month of Public Funds Analyzed Checking that a public school district published in 2024, its rows mostly checks, well over a hundred of them across three pages. It passed the single check open to it, every row together taking the Beginning Balance to the Ending Balance. That catches a misread amount, but two errors that cancel each other out would slip through, which is why this page claims less than most.

Huntington’s everyday business range, Business Checking 100, Unlimited Business Checking and Business Analyzed Checking, is unseen by us, and so are Asterisk-Free Checking and the Voice Business Credit Card. One public funds month is the whole of what Huntington evidence we have.

Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.

Questions

Why don’t my Huntington check rows come out in date order?

Because Huntington lists checks in number order, two to a line, and the date beside each is the day it was paid, so the dates jump about. Each row keeps its own paid date, and sorting by date in your spreadsheet or accounting software puts them in order. Nothing is lost by the order: the rows still have to add up to the Ending Balance.

Business Online offers a Deposit Account Statement and an Account Analysis Statement. Which do I convert?

The Deposit Account Statement. Huntington’s Business Online quick start guide offers both in the Statements/Invoices drop-down and calls the analysis one Detail of Charges: it breaks down what the account was charged, not what went in and out. The statement this page is based on is the deposit kind, with its deposits, checks and Balance Activity. We have not read an analysis statement.

Can Business Online give me a CSV instead of a PDF?

Yes, depending on your package. Huntington’s Business Online page lists CSV, QuickBooks, Quicken, BAI2 and Excel exports in the Standard package, and PDF, MT 940 and MT 942 as well in Comprehensive. That is account data; a converted statement is the month exactly as Huntington printed it, checked against its Ending Balance.

Can our accountant get the statements without our login?

In Huntington Online Banking, yes: Access Sharing invites someone such as an accountant or tax preparer to chosen accounts, including View Only access, under Profile, then Access Sharing. Business Online has its own user setup, with as many users as you like, each given accounts and services through the User Service Matrix.

Privacy, scans and price work the same for every bank, and the home page answers them.
