Desjardins statement to CSV
Drop the Desjardins PDF as you downloaded it. It is converted on your computer, and we check every row against the running balance. Then download it for your accounting software or a spreadsheet.
Getting the PDF out of Desjardins
In AccèsD Affaires, the monthly online statement (relevé de compte mensuel en ligne) is a PDF produced at the end of each month, and a caisse account keeps the last 7 years of them.
The same statement lets you download the month’s data as CSV, TXT or OFX, but those versions stay available for only 12 months.
When a month ends on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, operations deferred over the weekend go on the next month’s statement.
Going back to paper statements ends access to the statements archived in AccèsD Affaires, so Desjardins suggests downloading them first.
An employee-type user in AccèsD Affaires does not have to be an employee: Desjardins gives your accountant as an example of who could be given access.

What a Desjardins statement looks like, and what we do with it
A RELEVÉ DE COMPTE from the member’s caisse, in French, with the period top right under "Pour la période" and each account named by its code and product, EOP EPARGNE AVEC OPERATIONS. Its table is headed Date, Code, Description, Frais, Retrait, Dépôt and Solde; Retrait and Dépôt hold plain figures with no sign, and the Solde after each operation is printed on its row, from the start of the month down. In each statement we tested the whole month fit on one page, ending with the savings and investment accounts, COMPTE D’EPARGNE ET DE PLACEMENT, and a fee summary.
- Thousands are grouped with a space and the cents follow a point, so a figure prints as 1 234.56.
- We read the space as a thousands separator, not as a gap between two figures, so that is 1,234.56.
- The day and a three-letter transaction code share one cell, "12 MAR PPW", and the year appears only in the period, written in words as "du 1er mars au 31 mars" with the year after it.
- We split the date from the code, read "1er" as the first of the month, and give each row its year from the period. The code leads the description, as in "PPW Paiement internet à" or "DCN Chèque no" and the cheque’s number.
- The table opens on "Solde reporté" with no date, and the statement prints no closing balance and no totals.
- We take the opening balance from "Solde reporté" and check every row against the Solde beside it, which is the check this layout allows.
- Under the account, the qualifying share, "PART DE QUALIFICATION", and any other savings account such as a Compte Avantage entreprise each have a "Solde reporté" of their own, and a "SOMMAIRE DES FRAIS D'UTILISATION" closes the page with its own dates and amounts.
- None of them gives a row, and no other balance ever replaces the account’s opening balance.
What this page is based on
Five one-page Épargne avec opérations statements of five committees’ accounts, each a single month between November 2024 and March 2026. Every row of each reconciled against the Solde beside it, internet bill payments, cheques, a transfer received and the monthly fixed fee alike. One also listed a Compte Avantage entreprise with nothing in it that month; being five committees’ accounts, none joined another.
We have not seen a Desjardins credit card statement, Visa Affaires or Visa Entreprise among them, nor a Compte de trésorerie Desjardins Entreprises with transactions in it. Every statement we tested fit on one page, so a month long enough to run onto a second page is untested too.
Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.
Questions
My Desjardins statement is in French. Will my export be in French?
The descriptions will, because we export them exactly as printed: "Paiement internet à", "Chèque no", "Frais fixes d’utilisation". Everything else is converted: in a CSV, dates become 2025-03-10, and amounts drop the space between thousands and come out with a point before the cents. If your software expects a comma as the decimal mark, a custom CSV layout can write it that way.
What do PPW, DCN and FIX at the start of a row mean?
They are Desjardins’ three-letter transaction codes, which it explains on its own site: PPW is "Paiement de fournisseur personnalisé", DCN is "Chèque" and FIX is "Frais fixes d’utilisation". Desjardins adds an I in front for an operation at another caisse, so IVMW is VMW, a transfer, done between caisses. In one statement we tested, that four-letter code ran into its description as IVMWVirement; the amount and balance still reconciled.
AccèsD Affaires already offers OFX. Why convert the PDF?
For anything past the last year. Desjardins’ AccèsD Affaires guide keeps the CSV, TXT and OFX versions for 12 months but the PDF statements for 7 years, and warns that QuickBooks may need the .ofx file renamed to .qbo. Converting the PDF gives you every year that is still online, and our QBO is written for QuickBooks to begin with.
Privacy, scans and price work the same for every bank, and the home page answers them.
