Chase statement to CSV
Drop the Chase PDF as you downloaded it. It is converted on your computer, and we compare the totals with the ones Chase printed and check that the rows carry the opening balance to the closing one. Then download it for your accounting software or a spreadsheet.
Getting the PDF out of Chase
- Sign in to Chase Business Online.
- Choose the checking account under Accounts on the left.
- Click Statements, below your dashboard.
- Filter by year with the dropdown menu.
- Open or download a statement with the icons on its right.
Chase Business Online shows as much as seven years of statements. Chase sets these steps out in its help for Chase Payment Solutions, where it sends you to Accounts on the left for any other business account.
An accountant or bookkeeper can have their own login: under Account Management, Access & Security Manager lets the business owner add a user with view only access to chosen accounts. Only the account administrator can change services such as paperless statements.
Chase’s Deposit Account Agreement says a statement period may not be a calendar month, but in most cases runs 28 to 32 days.

What a Chase statement looks like, and what we do with it
Page one carries a Checking Summary that counts INSTANCES beside each AMOUNT. Each kind of transaction then gets a section of its own, Deposits and Additions, Checks Paid, ATM & Debit Card Withdrawals and Electronic Withdrawals, with DATE, DESCRIPTION and AMOUNT and a closing total line. No amount there carries a sign; the heading says which way it went. Rows show month and day only, 03/04, oldest first within a section, and the year is printed nowhere but in the period printed atop every page.
- The Checking Summary splits money out by kind, "Checks Paid", "ATM & Debit Card Withdrawals" and "Electronic Withdrawals", each printed with a minus. Where cards were used, an ATM & Debit Card Summary further on prints every card’s own "Total Card Purchases".
- We add the summary’s lines into one money-out figure and check our rows against it, and leave each card’s totals alone.
- An electronic payment runs over three or four lines, from "Orig CO Name:" and "Orig ID:" on the dated line through "Descr:", "Trace#:" and "Ind Name:" to a "Trn:" reference.
- We join them into one description, so it starts with the company that sent or took the money.
- Checks Paid puts the check number first, marked "^" where Chase has an image of it and "*" where the numbers skip, and the date sits by the amount under DATE PAID.
- We date each check by the day it was paid, and its description is the number with its marks, followed by any payee Chase printed beside it.
- Markers such as "*start*deposits and additions" and "*end*summary" are set in one-point text around every section.
- None of them is taken for a row or joins a description.
- A statement for checking and savings together opens with a Consolidated Balance Summary, and the savings account starts on a later page with a Transaction Detail of its own.
- The savings account becomes a separate tab, and none of its rows mixes with checking’s. Every check claimed on this page was run on the checking account.
- Some statements end with an IMAGES page, each cleared check captioned with its number, the date and the amount.
- We read nothing from the captions, so each check is counted once, from Checks Paid.
What this page is based on
Eight monthly Chase Business Complete Checking statements from 2023 to 2026, from the accounts of public bodies, community groups and a company. Each agreed to the cent with the deposits and withdrawals its Checking Summary prints, and its rows bridged the Beginning and Ending Balances exactly. Two of them also hold a Chase Business Total Savings account. Two pairs share an account, but months apart, so a run of Chase months chained together is still unproved.
Chase Performance Business Checking and Chase Platinum Business Checking may well print the same sections, yet we hold no statement of either, nor of the personal Chase Total Checking. The Ink Business credit cards are untested too; the one card statement in Chase’s layout we have read was a made-up sample.
Once it is converted, the import steps for each accounting package are the same for every bank.
Questions
Why does my converted Chase file have no balance column?
Because the statement prints none beside its transactions. Chase’s only day-by-day figures are in the Daily Ending Balance table near the end, and nothing in it becomes a row. Each Chase statement is checked two other ways: the sums of what came in and went out, set against the Checking Summary, and the net of every row against the move from Beginning Balance to Ending Balance. A misread amount breaks one or the other.
Our checking and savings come on one Chase statement. Can Chase split them?
Chase’s Deposit Account Agreement says it may combine accounts with a common owner on one statement, with or without your request, and will separate them for future statements if you ask. You need not wait, though: dropped here, the combined file opens the checking account and the savings account in separate tabs. Both savings accounts we tested held a single interest row, which reconciled with the savings balance and was dated inside the statement’s period, like the checking rows above it.
Will it convert my Chase Ink Business card statement?
We cannot promise it. No real Chase card statement has been through our tests, so this page vouches for none. The converter reads a card statement as a card, purchases as money out and payments as money in, and the checks on screen flag what does not add up before you download.
Privacy, scans and price work the same for every bank, and the home page answers them.
